A hair transplant in Turkey typically costs between $2,000 and $5,500 in 2026, and accredited, doctor-led clinics usually charge $3,000 to $6,000.
Most clinics price the operation as an all-inclusive package that covers the surgery, hotel, transfers, medication and aftercare. The same operation typically costs £10,000 to £15,000 in the United Kingdom and $10,000 to $20,000 in the United States, so even after flights most patients save well over half, often 65 to 80 percent.
At Smile Hair Clinic, packages are €2,390 (Gold), €3,290 (Platinum) and €5,790 (Diamond), and the main difference between them is which doctor performs each step of the operation.
I am Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan, co-founder of Smile Hair Clinic in Istanbul and an associate member of the FUE Europe. Price is usually the first question patients ask me, and it deserves a full answer rather than a single number. This page brings together everything that affects what you will pay, from the market range and our own packages to cost per graft, technique, the whole trip budget, payment and the costs that come after you fly home. If something is not covered here, you can ask me directly through the contact page.

How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey in 2026?
Across the Turkish market, a hair transplant usually costs $2,000 to $5,500. That range covers very different clinics. At the lower end you often find high-volume centres where the doctor only signs off the plan and technicians do most of the work. At the upper end are accredited clinics where named doctors perform the critical steps, take a limited number of patients each day and follow you for a year after surgery. These clinics typically charge $3,000 to $6,000.
Within that range, the price is shaped by who performs the operation, which technique is used, what the package includes and how much follow-up you receive. The number of grafts matters at clinics that charge per graft, but many Turkish clinics, including Smile Hair Clinic, use a fixed package price regardless of graft count.
In the video below, I explain where the price difference between Turkey, the UK and the US really comes from, how package pricing differs from per-graft pricing and why the plan should always come before the price.
Calculate Your Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey
The calculator below gives you a personal estimate in your own currency. Choose where you live, your stage of hair loss or the number of grafts, and the technique, and it adds flights, meals and any extra nights to show the full cost of your trip next to the price of the same operation at home.

Estimate your hair transplant cost in Turkey
Choose where you live, how many grafts you may need and the technique. The calculator compares typical 2026 Turkish market prices, including your trip, with the usual price at home.
Most packages already include 2 to 3 hotel nights, VIP transfers, medication and aftercare.
Estimates are based on typical 2026 market prices and approximate exchange rates. They are not a quote. Your exact price depends on your donor area, your plan and who performs the operation, and is confirmed after our team reviews your photos.
What Does an All-Inclusive Hair Transplant Package Include?
The all-inclusive package is the main reason a trip to Turkey is so easy to budget. Instead of paying separately for the surgery, the hotel, the driver and the medication, you pay one fixed price that covers almost everything you need on the ground. Packages vary between clinics, so it is worth comparing them line by line.
| Usually included in the package | Usually paid separately |
|---|---|
| Consultation, hairline design and graft planning | Return flights |
| The operation under local anesthesia | Meals beyond hotel breakfast |
| Pre-operative blood tests | Extra hotel nights |
| 2 to 3 nights in a 4 or 5-star hotel with breakfast | A separate room for a companion |
| VIP transfers between airport, hotel and clinic | Travel insurance |
| Medication, aftercare products and the first wash | A second session in the future |
| PRP treatment | Long-term medical treatment at home |
| Interpreter or patient coordinator | Personal spending in Istanbul |
| Follow-up after you return home, often for 12 months |
A package that looks cheap can become expensive if PRP, medication, the hotel or follow-up are missing from it. Always ask for the full list of inclusions in writing before you book.

Smile Hair Clinic Hair Transplant Packages and Prices

At Smile Hair Clinic we work with three all-inclusive packages. The techniques, the facility and the aftercare standards are the same for every patient. What changes from one package to the next is who designs your plan, who opens the recipient channels and who places the grafts, together with the hotel and a few extra treatments. Prices are in euros, and the dollar figures below are approximate.
| Gold | Platinum | Diamond | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | €2,390 (about $2,750) | €3,290 (about $3,800) | €5,790 (about $6,650) |

Gold Package (€2,390)
The Gold package is our entry point and still sits within the price range of accredited, doctor-led clinics. Your consultation, graft plan and hairline are designed by Dr. Ali Osman Soluk or Dr. M. Reşat Arpacı, and the incisions and implantation are carried out by our trained surgical team. Grafts are extracted with micro motor FUE and the recipient channels are opened with sapphire blades. It includes two nights in a 4-star hotel, VIP transfers, blood tests, PRP, the aftercare kit and the 1-year care plan. It suits patients with moderate hair loss and a clear, standard plan.
Platinum Package (€3,290)
In the Platinum package, the doctor who plans your operation also opens the recipient channels. This is the step that sets the angle, direction and density of every graft, so it has the largest effect on how natural the result looks. Implantation is done by the surgical team, and you stay two nights in a 5-star hotel. Platinum is the choice for most patients who want a doctor's hand on the most critical step without moving to the founders' package.
Diamond Package (€5,790)
In the Diamond package, consultation, planning and the incisions are carried out by one of the founding doctors, Dr. Gökay Bilgin or myself, or by our head doctor Dr. Firdavs Ahmedov. It adds exosome therapy to support healing and early growth, a hair care and protection kit for the first three months and a third night in a 5-star hotel. Diamond is designed for complex cases, advanced hair loss, repairs, a demanding hairline and patients who simply want the most experienced surgeons involved from start to finish. You can read more about my background on the about me page.
Which Package Is Right for You?
The right package depends on the complexity of your case rather than on the number of grafts. A young patient with early recession and a strong donor area usually does very well with Gold or Platinum. A patient with advanced loss, a weak donor area, a previous failed transplant or a very specific hairline goal benefits most from the experience in the Diamond package. After reviewing your photos, our team will tell you honestly which package fits your case, and we never recommend a higher package when it will not change your result.
Does the Number of Grafts Change the Package Price?
No. At Smile Hair Clinic, the package price stays the same whether you need 1,500 or 4,500 grafts. The number of grafts is set by the doctor according to what your donor area can safely give and what your hair loss needs, not by your budget. This removes any incentive to transplant more grafts than necessary, which protects your donor area for the future.
What Do Unshaven, Long FUE and Body Hair Add to the Price?
Unshaven and Long FUE techniques do not have a separate price at Smile Hair Clinic. They can be used in any package when the doctor decides they suit your hair and the size of the area. Using body hair as an extra donor source is the only common add-on. Beard hair adds €150 (about $170), and beard and chest hair together add €250 (about $280) to the package price. You can read more on the unshaven hair transplant, Long FUE and body hair transplant pages.
Why Does Doctor Involvement Change the Price So Much?

A hair transplant has three critical stages, which are planning and hairline design, graft extraction and opening the recipient channels. The incision stage decides the angle, direction and spacing of every hair, and it is where experience shows most in the final result. In many low-cost clinics, a doctor takes part only in the consultation and technicians perform everything else. In accredited clinics, named doctors perform the critical steps and take a limited number of patients a day. At Smile Hair Clinic, each doctor operates on no more than two patients a day.
That is why the most useful question to ask any clinic is not "how many grafts" but "who will perform each step of my operation". Facility standards, team size, the scope of the package and follow-up also play a role, but they come after the surgeon.
How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost per Graft in Turkey?
When Turkish prices are converted into a cost per graft, the market average is about $1.15 per graft, within a range of roughly $0.80 to $2.50. The figure is higher for small operations, because the fixed costs of the package are spread over fewer grafts. In other countries, clinics usually charge per graft directly.

| Country | Typical price per graft |
|---|---|
| Turkey | $0.80 to $2.50 (average about $1.15) |
| United Kingdom | £2.40 to £4.00 |
| United States | $4 to $7 |
| Canada | CA$5.50 to CA$9.50 |
| Australia | AU$5.00 to AU$9.00 |
| Western Europe | €2.30 to €4.10 |
Per-graft pricing is useful for comparison, but it can work against the patient. A clinic paid by the graft has a reason to recommend more grafts, while a package price lets the doctor plan only what you actually need.
How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost by Number of Grafts?

For clinics that do adjust their price to the size of the operation, the table below shows typical Turkish market prices next to the United Kingdom and the United States.
| Number of grafts | Turkey | United Kingdom | United States |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 grafts | $2,000 to $2,500 | £2,400 to £4,000 | $4,000 to $7,000 |
| 2,000 grafts | $2,200 to $3,200 | £4,800 to £8,000 | $8,000 to $14,000 |
| 3,000 grafts | $2,700 to $4,000 | £7,200 to £12,000 | $12,000 to $21,000 |
| 4,000 grafts | $3,400 to $4,600 | £9,600 to £16,000 | $16,000 to $28,000 |
| 5,000 grafts | $4,000 to $5,500 | £12,000 to £20,000 | $20,000 to $35,000 |
The gap widens as the operation gets bigger. A 1,000-graft hairline correction can cost up to about three times more at home in the United States, while a 4,000-graft operation can cost roughly four to eight times more.
How Many Grafts Will You Need?

The number of grafts depends mainly on the stage of your hair loss, the density you want and the quality of your donor area. The ranges below are typical for men and are only a starting point, because the final number is always set after your donor area is examined.
| Stage of hair loss | Typical number of grafts |
|---|---|
| Norwood Type 2, mild recession at the temples | 1,000 to 1,500 |
| Norwood Type 3, deeper recession at the front | 1,500 to 2,500 |
| Norwood Type 4, front and early crown loss | 2,500 to 3,500 |
| Norwood Type 5, front and crown with a thinning bridge | 3,500 to 4,500 |
| Norwood Type 6 and Norwood Type 7, advanced loss | 4,500 or more, sometimes with body hair or in two sessions |
In the video below, Dr. Firdavs Ahmedov walks through a 3,500-graft case, from hairline design and graft distribution to the natural result at 12 months.
How Much Do Different Hair Transplant Techniques Cost in Turkey?
Technique has a smaller effect on price than most patients expect. Clinics usually charge a little more for techniques that take longer or need more experience, such as DHI and unshaven work.

| Technique | Typical price in Turkey | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Manual FUE | $2,000 to $4,500 | Gentle extraction, delicate or curly hair |
| Sapphire FUE | $2,000 to $5,000 | Most cases, especially larger areas |
| DHI | $2,200 to $5,500 | Hairlines, precise placement, adding density |
| Sapphire FUE combined with DHI | $2,500 to $6,000 | Large areas with a refined hairline |
| Unshaven and Long FUE | $2,500 to $7,000 | Discreet operations on smaller areas |
| Body hair transplant | $2,200 to $5,500 | Advanced loss or a weak scalp donor |
At Smile Hair Clinic, the technique does not change the package price. The doctor chooses the technique that suits your hair, and the package you choose decides who performs the operation.
How Much Do Other Hair Procedures Cost in Turkey?
Many patients plan a second procedure or a supporting treatment alongside their hair transplant. Typical Turkish prices for the most common ones are shown below, and each page explains the procedure in detail.
| Procedure or treatment | Typical price in Turkey |
|---|---|
| Beard transplant | $1,800 to $4,800 |
| Afro hair transplant | $2,500 to $4,500 |
| Exosome hair therapy | $2,200 to $3,400 per package |
| PRP hair treatment | $150 to $300 per session |
| Hair mesotherapy | $100 to $300 per session |
| Ozone hair therapy | $100 to $150 per session |
Women considering surgery can read about costs and suitability on the female hair transplant page, and facial hair procedures are covered on the eyebrow transplant, moustache transplant and sideburn transplantation pages.
How Does the Cost in Turkey Compare With the UK, the US and Other Countries?
Turkey remains one of the most affordable places in the world for a hair transplant performed in an accredited clinic. The table compares typical prices for a standard operation with the Turkish market range of $2,000 to $5,500.

| Country | Typical hair transplant price | Typical saving in Turkey |
|---|---|---|
| Turkey | $2,000 to $5,500 | |
| United Kingdom | £10,000 to £15,000 | 74 to 83 percent |
| United States | $10,000 to $20,000 | 65 to 83 percent |
| Canada | CA$12,500 to CA$24,500 | 63 to 81 percent |
| Australia | AU$12,000 to AU$30,000 | 57 to 83 percent |
| Germany | €8,000 to €15,000 | 62 to 80 percent |
| France | €3,500 to €10,000 | Up to 70 percent |
| Spain | €4,500 to €10,000 | 32 to 70 percent |
| Italy | €5,500 to €10,000 | 45 to 70 percent |
| Poland and Hungary | €3,000 to €7,500 | Up to 59 percent |
| Dubai (UAE) | $6,000 to $11,000 | 42 to 68 percent |
| South Korea | $3,900 to $9,500 | Up to 63 percent |
| Mexico | $2,500 to $6,000 | Up to 42 percent |
| India and Thailand | $3,000 to $6,000 | Up to 42 percent |
Turkey vs the United Kingdom
In the UK, a standard operation usually costs £10,000 to £15,000 and is priced for the surgery alone, at around £2.40 to £4.00 per graft. Flights from London to Istanbul take under four hours and usually cost £121 to £280 return, which makes Turkey the most common destination for British patients. A 3,000-graft operation that costs £7,200 to £12,000 at home can be done in Istanbul for a total trip cost of about £2,160 to £3,415, including flights and food.
Turkey vs the United States
In the US, hair transplants are usually charged at $4 to $7 per graft, so a typical operation costs $10,000 to $20,000 and large sessions can pass $30,000. Even with a return flight from New York of about $649 to $1,207, a 3,000-graft operation in Turkey usually comes to $3,400 to $5,380 for the whole trip, compared with $12,000 to $21,000 at home.
Why Is a Hair Transplant So Much Cheaper in Turkey?
The lower price does not come from lower medical standards in accredited clinics. It comes from economics. The Turkish lira has weakened sharply against the dollar, the euro and the pound, from about 8.9 lira per dollar in 2021 to about 48 in 2026, so salaries, rent and running costs are far lower when converted into foreign currency. Operating a clinic in Istanbul costs a fraction of operating one in London or New York.
Government support also plays a role. Since 2018, authorised health tourism providers have benefited from a VAT exemption for non-resident foreign patients and a tax deduction on health tourism income. Finally, Istanbul clinics treat a high volume of international patients, which lets them bundle hotels and transfers at much lower rates than a patient could book alone. The combination of these factors explains why the same operation costs several times less.
In our general FAQ video, my colleagues and I answer this exact question. The video below starts at the part where we explain why hair transplants cost less in Turkey.
Do Hair Transplant Prices in Turkey Vary by City?
Yes, a little. Istanbul has the largest number of clinics and the widest range of prices, while coastal cities are slightly cheaper at the lower end.
| City | Typical price range |
|---|---|
| Istanbul | $2,000 to $5,500 |
| Ankara | $1,800 to $5,000 |
| Izmir | $1,750 to $4,000 |
| Antalya | $1,500 to $4,500 |
Istanbul is still where most experienced hair transplant surgeons and accredited clinics are based, and it has direct flights from almost every major city in the world. For most patients, that matters more than a few hundred dollars of difference.
How Have Hair Transplant Prices in Turkey Changed Since 2018?
Prices in Turkey have risen gradually, mostly at the top of the range, as accredited clinics invested in doctors, facilities and aftercare. The lower end has stayed almost flat because of strong competition.

| Period | Typical price range | Typical cost per graft |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 to 2020 | $1,300 to $3,800 | $0.80 to $1.60 |
| 2021 to 2022 | $1,400 to $4,500 | $0.90 to $1.80 |
| 2023 to 2024 | $1,450 to $5,000 | $1.00 to $2.00 |
| 2025 | $1,500 to $5,000 | $0.90 to $2.00 |
| 2026 | $1,500 to $5,500 | $0.80 to $2.50 |
Very low prices are still advertised, but the gap between budget centres and accredited clinics has widened. In practice, most patients choosing a doctor-led clinic in 2026 pay between $2,500 and $7,000.
What Does the Whole Trip Cost Compared With Staying at Home?
The package covers most of your time in Istanbul, so the only large extra is the flight. The example below is based on a 3,000-graft operation at typical market prices.

| Cost item | Patient from the UK | Patient from the US |
|---|---|---|
| Hair transplant package | £2,000 to £3,000 | $2,700 to $4,000 |
| Return flight | £121 to £280 | $649 to $1,207 |
| Meals for 3 days | £40 to £135 | $50 to $175 |
| Total trip to Turkey | £2,160 to £3,415 | $3,400 to $5,380 |
| Same operation at home | £7,200 to £12,000 | $12,000 to $21,000 |
| Typical saving | £3,785 to £9,840 | $6,620 to $17,600 |
I advise patients to add a buffer of 10 to 15 percent for travel insurance, an extra night or personal spending. Even with that buffer, the total trip usually costs about £2,400 to £3,930 from the UK and $3,750 to $6,200 from the US.
Kyle and Jordan, business partners from the US, came to Istanbul together for their hair transplants. In the video below they explain their whole journey and why the price difference with home convinced them to travel.
What Other Travel Costs Should You Budget For?
| Extra cost | Typical amount |
|---|---|
| Return flight from London | £121 to £280 |
| Return flight from New York | $649 to $1,207 |
| Return flight from Toronto | CA$1,060 to CA$1,560 |
| Return flight from Australia | AU$1,524 to AU$2,259 |
| Meals beyond breakfast | €15 to €40 a day |
| Extra hotel night | About €98 (4-star) or €158 (5-star) |
| Companion's own room | Same nightly rates |
| Travel insurance | Depends on your country and cover |
A companion who shares your room usually pays nothing extra for the hotel, and transfers already cover both of you. Our patient guide explains how to plan your days in Istanbul.
Are There Hidden Costs in a Hair Transplant in Turkey?
In an accredited clinic there should be no hidden fees, and the price you agree before you travel should be the price you pay. Problems usually appear in clinics that give a low quote online and then add charges after you arrive, for example for extra grafts, PRP, medication, a "premium" technique or a doctor's involvement.
The safest approach is simple. Get a written quote that lists the price, the currency, every inclusion and who performs each step, and ask whether anything could change the price on the day of surgery. At Smile Hair Clinic, the package price is fixed once your deposit is paid and does not change with the number of grafts.
What Costs Come After You Return Home?
The operation is a one-time cost, but your hair loss may continue around the transplanted area. Many patients use medical treatment such as minoxidil, and in men finasteride when it suits them, to protect their existing hair, which is a modest monthly cost at home. Some choose occasional PRP or exosome sessions to support the scalp. If your hair loss progresses significantly, a second session may be considered, usually at least a year after the first. Planning for these costs from the start gives you a realistic picture of the total investment.
The video below starts at the part of our after-operation FAQ where we explain which medications patients may need in the long term to protect their existing hair.
Is a Cheap Hair Transplant in Turkey Safe?
A low price on its own is not a problem, but a price far below the market range is a warning sign. It often means the doctor is not involved beyond a short consultation, the clinic operates on many patients a day, or the clinic is not properly licensed. The consequences can include poor graft survival, an unnatural hairline and an overharvested donor area, and repairing a failed transplant usually costs more than doing it well the first time.
The table below shows what to check before you choose a clinic, whatever your budget.
| What to check | Warning sign |
|---|---|
| Ministry of Health authorisation | The clinic cannot show its licence |
| Independent accreditation | A badge that cannot be verified with the issuer |
| A named doctor for each critical step | The clinic will not say who performs the incisions |
| Professional memberships such as the ISHRS | Memberships are claimed but no doctor is named |
| A fixed, written price | The quote rises after you land |
| A realistic graft plan | Promises of unlimited or very high graft numbers |
| Follow-up after you fly home | Contact stops when you leave Istanbul |
| Review history | A sudden spike of five-star reviews |

How Do You Pay for a Hair Transplant in Turkey?
Most clinics in Turkey ask for a small deposit to reserve your date and take the balance in person. At Smile Hair Clinic, the process works in four steps.

| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Deposit | You pay a €250 deposit by card through a secure online payment link, with no card fee. It locks your package price and is deducted from the total. |
| 2. Flights | You book your flights and send us your tickets. |
| 3. Reservation | We reserve your surgery date, hotel and VIP transfers. |
| 4. Balance | You pay the balance at the clinic when you arrive in Istanbul. |
Package prices are set in euros. Paying the balance in cash is recommended, because paying the balance by card carries a 10 percent surcharge. Any card used must be in the patient's own name.
Does Insurance Cover a Hair Transplant in Turkey?
In most cases, no. Health insurers and public systems such as the NHS treat hair restoration for pattern hair loss as a cosmetic procedure, so it is not covered at home or abroad. Exceptions are rare and usually involve hair loss after an accident, burns or certain medical treatments. Travel insurance is a different matter and is worth buying, because it covers flights, luggage and unexpected events during your trip. Check that your policy does not exclude planned medical travel.
How Can You Get an Accurate Quote?
An accurate price starts with an accurate assessment. Send clear photos of your hairline, the top of your head, your crown and the back and sides of your head in good light, together with your age, any medication you take and whether you have had a transplant before. From these photos our team estimates the number of grafts, recommends a technique and tells you which package suits your case. The final plan is confirmed at your face-to-face consultation in Istanbul, and the package price you agreed does not change.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey
How much does a 3,000-graft hair transplant cost in Turkey?
Typically $2,700 to $4,000 at clinics that price by size. At Smile Hair Clinic, the package price stays the same whatever the graft count.
Why are some clinics in Turkey so much cheaper than others?
The biggest difference is who performs the operation. Very cheap clinics usually leave most steps to technicians and treat many patients a day.
Is the price per graft or per package?
Both models exist in Turkey. Most accredited clinics use a fixed package price, which removes the incentive to transplant more grafts than you need.
What is the cheapest Smile Hair Clinic package?
The Gold package at €2,390, which includes doctor planning, the hotel, VIP transfers, PRP, medication and the 1-year care plan.
What is the difference between Platinum and Diamond?
In Platinum, the incisions are made by Dr. Soluk or Dr. Arpacı. In Diamond, they are made by a founding doctor or our head doctor, and exosome therapy and a third hotel night are added.
Do I pay more for DHI or sapphire FUE?
Some clinics charge more for DHI. At Smile Hair Clinic, the technique does not change the package price.
Does an unshaven hair transplant cost more?
In the wider market, usually yes. At Smile Hair Clinic, unshaven and Long FUE can be used in any package when the doctor decides they suit you.
How much is the deposit?
€250, paid by card with no fee. It locks your price and is deducted from the total.
Can I pay the balance by card?
Yes, but a 10 percent surcharge applies to card payment of the balance, so most patients pay in cash.
Are flights included in the package?
No. Flights are booked by the patient, while transfers between the airport, hotel and clinic are included.
Can someone come with me, and what does it cost?
Yes. A companion sharing your room usually pays nothing extra for the hotel or transfers. A separate room costs about €98 to €158 a night.
Is a hair transplant cheaper for women?
Women usually need fewer grafts, but the package price depends on the case rather than gender. The female hair transplant page explains who is a good candidate.
Will I need to pay for a second session later?
Not always. A second session is only considered if your hair loss progresses or you want more density, usually at least a year after the first.
Does insurance pay for a hair transplant?
Rarely. Hair transplants for pattern hair loss are considered cosmetic and are generally not covered.
Is it worth travelling to Turkey once flights are added?
For most patients, yes. Even with flights, food and a buffer, the total trip usually costs between a fifth and a half of the same operation in the UK or the US.
Getting a Clear Price for Your Hair Transplant With Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan
The right price is the one that buys you a natural result, a protected donor area and a doctor who stays with you after you fly home. Comparing clinics by the headline figure alone rarely gives you that. If you send me your photos, our team will tell you how many grafts you need, which technique suits your hair and which package fits your case, with a written price and no surprises on the day. You can reach me through the contact page, and the full picture of the procedure is on the hair transplant in Turkey page.
